Nikolaos Magitsis is a professor of Physical Education and Sports. He studied att Department of Physical Education and Sports at Komotini in the field and thesis "Reaction time and high altitude".
He lives in Agria Magnesia while he trains in Pelion and also on mount Olympus. He was born in 1968 and since 1994 he prganizes and implements mountaineering expeditios, but also sport survival missions all over the world, such as hiking desert crossing, sea crossing by kayak e.t.c.
He has organized and finisfed more than 60 expeditions, all over the planet. He is the first and only Greek who has completed the "7 summits" project, as well as the only Greek who has reached (on foot) the Noth Pole ( April 2000) and the South Pole ( January 2003).
Among his action, it is worth mentioning the hiking of Tunisian sahara (180 kms in 4 days 2001), crossing the Salar De Uyuni in Bolivia (154 kms in 54 hours in 2005), crossing Baikal lake on the ice , (February 20222) as well as first winter crossing of the Aegean sea by solo kayak from Lemnos to Volos (170 miles in 102 hours).
